Who are you?
I am a SEO manager in Los Angeles, CA. I am an in-house SEO by day and by night I work on my own projects. To a significantly lesser extent, I also do small contract jobs for an SEO agency in Santa Monica (email me at DamnDomainer-at-yahoo-com if you are interested).
DamnDomainer? What’s with that?
First of all, I hate domainers. Those damn domainers have taken up all the bad-ass domain names, forcing me to crappy names like “themortgageloansite.mobi” etc. And even worse, some domainers with really kick-ass domains are sitting on gold mines, and yet all they do to monetize their site is put up spammy looking Namedrive parking page. Why not take your premium TLD, spend a few thousand developing it, and make a killing!! Why??!
Nevertheless, the natural synergy between SEO and domaining has given me no choice but to join the dark side as well. “If you can’t beat them, join them!” Plus, I’ll admit, I’m only mad because I’m jealous.
What is are you trying to do with this blog?
My goal with this blog is to make domainers realize that theres more to a domain than just a parking page. By sharing SEO tips and my experiences with amateur domaining, I hope to teach domainers how to develop their domains into mega-sites. And even better, I hope to meet some baller domainers to partner up with on enterprise level web developments.
